Asics Gel-NYC - Cream/Antique Red

The Asics GEL-NYC embodies the Y2K runner vibe currently celebrated in the sneaker world. Launched in Spring 2023, the silhouette originated as a collaboration with streetwear label Awake NY, led by designer Angelo Baque, former Brand Director at Supreme. This mash-up combines the upper of the GEL-NIMBUS 3 from the early 2000s with details from the GEL-MC PLUS V, opening new possibilities for color-blocking. In Cream and Antique Red, a warm, muted base tone meets an earthy red accent. The mesh upper is airy, while suede overlays provide structure and a logo with tactile appeal. The layered sole with GEL cushioning adds a typically bulbous, retro-futuristic touch. The palette feels transitional: warm neutrals with a red tint reminiscent of raw brick facades. A colorway that conveys the New York spirit of the silhouette without loud tones.
