The adidas Adistar Control 5 is back from the 2000s. Good timing.

Originally designed as a performance runner, the archive silhouette returns in 2026 with its technical, layered design intact. An open-mesh upper is paired with suede and synthetic overlays, giving the shoe the kind of retro running look that has found plenty to do off the track.

Underfoot, cushioned construction and a rubber outsole keep things comfortable and grounded. Running technology moves quickly. Good design tends to stick around.
