Here we have the '6th Man' 3/4' Sleeve Sweatshirt from Jelado, following on from the popular introduction last Spring/Summer season.
Cut from 100% cotton in Japan, the '6th Man' has been inspired by vintage cut-off sweatshirts and also refers to the '6th Man' in a Basketball squad who is not a starter but comes off the bench much more often than other reserves, often being the first player to be substituted in. This version has a vintage finish throughout.
Woven on vintage hanging knitting machines in Wakayama, the '6th Man' Sweatshirt features 3/4' cut-off sleeves, single 'V' construction with wide crew neck collar, bound seams for extra durability while a relaxed fit completes the look.
The fabric has been woven on vintage hanging knitting machines in Wakayama that weave at a sluggish pace providing a small amount of fabric a day. These were standard sweatshirt production machines until the 1960's when production methods moved elsewhere. There are about 400 of these machines remaining in Japan (with only 200 in production) and they produce roughly a metre of fabric an hour - they require skilled craftsman to operate these machines in order to produce vintage like fabrics.
