Y'2 Leather EB-160 Eco Horse Tea-Core 1930s Type I Leather Jacket Black

Y'2 Leather are based in Osaka, Japan, and have been in the leather jacket making game for close to fifty years. Specialising in horse, cow & deer hides, they make some exceptional jackets, all handmade in their Osaka studio.

The EB-160 Type I from Y’2 is crafted in Japan using specially developed Eco Horse leather, designed to faithfully capture the character of original 1930s leather jackets. Slowly tanned with a rich blend of natural tannins and oils, the horsehide is shrunk by approximately 20% to increase density and durability. Originally 1.8mm thick, it is carefully shaved to 1.3mm, resulting in a leather that feels substantial yet comfortable from wear.

Inspired by the iconic 1930s 506XX / Type I denim jacket, this model translates classic denim construction into leather. Each jacket is expertly sewn in Y’2’s Osaka workshop using an exceptionally fine stitch count, rare in leather garments, replicating vintage denim techniques to create natural puckering and depth along the seams.

Details include a button-front closure with boxed pleats, a single chest pocket with button flap, cinch side adjusters, button cuff adjusters and an action back for improved mobility. The jacket is finished with a cotton/linen body lining and nylon sleeve lining for comfort and ease of wear.
