Known as the Submarine Jacket, or Coat, Winter, Woolen, this wool coat was originally issued exclusively to U.S. Navy submarine personnel. Constructed from double-cloth herringbone wool, a fabric widely used in workwear prior to World War II, it stands apart for its rare black colour - an uncommon choice for the Navy, which typically favoured navy blue.

Produced in limited numbers due to its specialist use, the jacket remained largely unknown for decades, with surviving originals quietly surfacing in vintage and charity shops and now considered extremely rare.

The Real McCoy’s have faithfully reproduced the design to the highest standards. Cut in Japan from 100% wool, Submarine Jacket is understated and functional, it features two large front pockets button flap closure and a collar strap for added warmth. With wear, the character of the wool develops, gradually revealing the depth of its herringbone pattern.
