With the Adidas x Hartcopy BW Army Decon, a sportswear giant meets a collective that curates sneaker culture like an archive. Hartcopy documents the world of sneakers and streetwear as a meticulously maintained, carefully curated art project – on Instagram, in limited books, and through its own collaborations. The BW Army itself has a long history: the silhouette originates from the West German army trainer of the 1970s, later replicated by Margiela, but still produced by Adidas today. The Decon version takes the principle further. It retains the clean lines that made the model famous but adopts a deconstructed style – the leather upper gains softness and appears even more streamlined. In Crystal White / Grey One, soft leather runs over the shaft, while Off-White accents on the toe, lacing, and heel emphasize the reduced play. The gum sole grounds the whole. The actual sign remains minimal: the red zigzag stitch on the side lacing panel is the only editorial mark – almost like a curator's note, a light stroke that does not overload the silhouette.
