For the Converse x Palmes Jack Purcell, Converse teams up with Palmes, the Copenhagen tennis lifestyle label by Nikolaj Hansson. Founded in 2021, the brand merges tennis with art, design, architecture, music, and skateboarding, with a flagship store in Copenhagen. The Jack Purcell is a court classic with a recognizable smile over the cap – here as a PDM version, drawing almost every detail from the 1970s archive. The Parisian Night colorway features a suede upper in deep navy. The suede is made to be worn, softening over time and showing its patina; white contrast stitching highlights the depth of the navy, complemented by a matching blue smile and a leather edge at the collar. A coarse, off-white canvas webbing at the heel references a 1930s pair from the Converse archive. Hansson is intrigued by the dual nature of the Jack Purcell. Punk and prep at once, at home in a linen suit or a torn skate tee, on the tennis court or in the skatepark. This calm ambivalence is exactly what the suede version embodies.
