The model debuted in 2008 as the ninth iteration of the GEL-1000 series, heavily inspired by the Kayano 14 – designed as a more accessible alternative to the high-performance line. Over a decade later, Asics revived the silhouette during the dad-shoe revival, where its mix of mesh, overlays, and layered midsoles perfectly resonated with the times. This version comes in the Dusty Fern / Black colorway – a muted, earthy green that gives the chunky silhouette a calm, almost casual vibe.
