Well if you're the owner of the fantastic Engineered Garments Over Pant then you whip these out and chuck them over the top of your pants. What an age we live in! Only it's not really a modern thing, as with most of EG's references this comes from heritage military garb. Changing your pants isn't really an option in the field.
