Amongst Nike's cult silhouettes, one shoe which looms large is the Air Footscape. Debuted in 1995, the asymmetrical lacing and contoured footbed were developed for a new approach to foot shape and comfort. The shoe's tech might have been impressive but it's the looks which cemented it as an icon — most famously in Japan.
In 2006 the Footscape Woven was born, looking like a lovechild of the Air Woven and Footscape. The hand-woven upper was simultaneously futuristic and antique. Almost thirty years later the Footscape Woven still looks as good as it did, and Nike is taking advantage of that with a fresh reboot.
