adidas Superstar 82 - Footwear White/Core Black-Off White

Whether on the feet of Run DMC; the Beastie Boys; Björk or any number of legends from the birth of hip-hop, the adidas Superstar remains an icon in its own regard. The simple leather uppers sit around the iconic rubber toe which was a technical revolution in 1969. After 54 years, the "shelltoe" isn't the sporting phenom it once was, but instead it's now a cultural tour-de-force.

So why '82? For many Superstar aficionados this is the peak, the most perfect version. Created in what one might consider adidas' "golden era" the '82 Superstar manufactured in France had a sleek, almost svelt shape that contradicted the burly ruggedness of the rubber toe. Much like the Campus and Gazelle in the surrounding years, there's something so right about the '80s Superstar.

The adi design team recognised this and spent countless years refining, tweaking and perfecting samples until they had the most accurate reproduction of a Superstar from 1982. This is the result of all that work... Magnifique!
