The late ’90s were very good to Nike Basketball, and the Air Bakin is one of those shoes that proves it. Designed by Eric Avar and made famous on court by Tim Hardaway, the 1997 heavyweight is back in its original Varsity Red, Black, White and Varsity Maize colorway. We’re happy Nike left the subtlety in 1997.
The high-cut upper brings back the Bakin’s signature ribbed construction, generous padding and unmistakable yellow laces. Max Air in the heel joins additional Air cushioning in the forefoot, keeping all that late-’90s bulk considerably lighter on foot than it looks.
