The ASICS Hypersync is built from two athletic references that have almost nothing in common: the HYPERPOWER track and field shoe and the SNAPDOWN wrestling shoe — one built for explosive power, the other for ground control. Empty Behaviour, the experimental footwear label founded by Chen Yichang and Qian Zhou, finds the connection between them and then pushes past it. In White / Pure Silver, soft textile detailing drawn from classical dance skirts is integrated into the tongue, contrasting the shoe's hard-edged wrestling-inspired structure with something entirely unexpected.
