Nike Air Jordan 3 Retro *Laser*

More than two decades after the original appeared as a one-off gift for Michael Jordan, the Air Jordan 3 'Laser' finally gets a wider release. The story starts in 2003, when Mark Smith created a one-of-one AJ3 for Jordan’s 40th birthday using the same laser engraving process that would later become synonymous with the Jordan Laser series. Now, that rare pair serves as the foundation for a retail release of its own.

The familiar AJ3 construction is given a very different treatment, with intricate laser-etched illustrations covering the leather upper and referencing different parts of Jordan’s life, interests and playing career. Tumbled leather forms the base, while low-pile suede covers the toe, heel and collar, with the laser engraving continuing onto the heel tab.
